Gas Grills
- Convenience: The gas grill lights up quickly and only takes a few minutes to be ready for cooking. To turn off the grill, simply turn it off.
Versatility: The gas grill offers multiple burners and a variety of accessories such as infrared burners and rotisserie kits.
Temperature Control: Normally, each burner has its own control knob, which allows you to adjust the temperature easily and accurately.
Cleaning: Cleaning the gas grill is fairly easy, but may require a little more maintenance depending on the type of cooking grate. - Flavor: Generally less flavor than charcoal grills. Any grilled flavor comes from the drippings of the food, which are vaporized by the flame taming system. Using a smoker box can help add some flavor to your food.
Fuel: If using propane, you may unknowingly run out of fuel in the middle of cooking if you don't check your tank before you start.
Bulky: In general, gas grills take up more space than charcoal and they are usually more expensive. - $1.00 per hour: Depending on propane gas prices, expect it to cost around $1.00 an hour to operate. Natural gas is lower, but a connection may need to be installed.

Charcoal Grills
- Flavors: Charcoal Grill offers great flavors and smoked flavors. Some people say that the food from the gas grill is not very good.
Cost: Charcoal grills are generally cheaper than gas grills and charcoal is widely available.
Versatility: Some charcoal grills may have direct and indirect grill areas. - Time: Unless you use natural charcoal in combination with an electric starter or chimney starter, it usually takes 20-30 minutes to start a charcoal grill.
Convenience: Charcoal grills are less convenient than gas grills.
